Normafa, Hungary
As summer (where was spring?) has arrived in Budapest, Kristina and I decided to escape the hectic life of the city and made our way up to Normafa, a forest on top of one of the hills surrounding Budapest. It is not only very peaceful, but also allows for a great view. Here are a few snap shots.

Black & White Budapest
This week's blog will be a collection of pictures that cover the great variety of sculptures and artistic decorations found on or around houses. Most old buildings in Budapest are filled with either earthly, heavenly creatures along with animals. It really gives a great insight into former architectural principles. Here are some of my findings.

The darker side of this vibrant city
This week was a larg battle against the soldiers of the Hungarian bureaucracy. After hours of waiting, running around from one authority to another, and close to losing my mind, I managed to persuade these "wonderfully polite and kind" creatures that I still exist, hence my citizenship. On my way through this wilderness, I came across this area of badly run down buildings. I think it depicts the contrasting views of Budapest.

On the train from the city to the suburbs, I had this wonderfully embellished seat in front of me.

I spent a lot of time ridding one of these lovely traditional "vilamos" - aka tram.
